Summer Blueberries

So I went upstate for a little visit and did one of my like all time fav things!! I went blueberry picking!! Stuberry Farms has an amazing blueberry crop this year and the raspberries looked like they were coming along well too. So they have a brilliant contraption of like old coffee jugs with rope tied around them that goes around your neck, which frees up both hands for more picking or in my case for more eating haha. The weather was fantastic for picking. So, here's a recipe for fresh blueberries.

3/4 c whole wheat flour
1/3 c protein powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1/4 cup greek yogurt
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
5 tbsps xylitol
3 truvia
2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/4 cup of Blueberries

Combine all of the wet ingredients and then add in the dry. Lastly, fold in the blueberries and bake at 350 for 40 mins or until golden brown.
Try it!!! Cut into squares and freeze- perfect for when that sweet tooth comes calling you!!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

YES!! Delicious! So, I had to try these out for myself, and create my own..So, these are obviously a healthier option to Reeese!!!!!

Chocolate PB CUPS

3 tbsp of PB2 mix with 2 1/2 tbsp of water
2 tbsp of peanut butter
1 tsp of agave nectar or honey
1 packet of truvia or sweetener of choice
1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
1/2 tsp of peanut butter extract (optional) Just to make it extra peanut buttery
3/4 cup of chocolate..I used Dark/semisweet

So, first heat the chocolate in a saucepan on the stove!!It doesn't take long at all so watch it.
Then in a separate bowl mix the PB2 with the water, then add in the rest of the ingredients.
Now put in a layer of the chocolate in a mini muffin tin, then add a dollop of the peanut butter creation in the center, now layer on top and around the sides some more chocolate. Repeat!!
Makes about 12 or so mini cups!!
Freeze for at least 2 hrs or so!!

Be Happy!!!

Be happy with the body that you were given!! I know some of you are probably like...Jamie seriously come on you can't tell me that, But it's true! Some peoples' body types were meant to do certain things and be certain sizes and weights. Like some people are meant to be doctors, some are meant to be artists and some firefighters.
So embrace your body!! Working towards the perfect bikini body is only attainable for certain peoples body types, unfortunately.  But that doesn't mean ditch the gym! Being active for your health is important, and will still help you reach goals that are attainable for you. Don't feel like your working hard in sweat blood and tears for nothing. Some people have to work a little harder with their physical appearance than others, but I'm sure they were blessed with brains or some other type of amazing quality. Doing what benefits your body and learning to play the cards that you were dealt with is important. Learning how to down play flaws and accentuate our good qualities takes time.

Some people are given "the body" from birth, others have to work for it but can still achieve it, while others will work all of their lives to try to achieve the impossible. For instance I will never have a tapered hourglass stomach/midsection. I have an athletic boxy build and my mesomorph body type isn't going to allow me to healthily get an Adriana Lima tapered teeny waist it's just not going to be attainable for me. I'm sure there are certain body parts that you, YES YOU right now this very minute are thinking of for yourself. So what I want you to do is write it out on a piece of paper. Whatever the body part that you just have excepted that will never belong to you the way you want it to and light it on fire, or throw it away etc...whatever your choice. It's over with. Except your flaws and move on. Only you have the power to overcome it and accentuate your good qualities. Be happy with YOU!

"Anything that bothers you is only a problem within. Only you can experience it only you can correct it."

"Stop focusing on what you do not have, and take stock of all that you do have."

Don't get discouraged

Frequently so many people get discouraged when walking into the gym. It can be extremely intimidating and really easy to give up! Exercise is so important. Everywhere people are overweight or disease struck all from the crap we feed our bodies, being obese or even just plain lazy. Not having enough time is a popular excuse. I'm not saying you have to spend grueling countless hours sweating away in the gym but attending for just the minimum is crucial for your health. At least try to hit the guidelines for the average adult. Exercising your heart as well as your skeletal muscles is important and the outcome far exceeds the risks. Your heart is actually a muscle and keeping an active lifestyle is great for the lil 'ole ticker.

Try not to get intimidated while in the gym. Hiring a personal trainer is a great idea, and can definitely pay off in the log run. Remember that a lot of people in the gym are feeling the same way as you, so don't feel stupid and embarrassed. Are YOU happy with your body? Many people are not happy with their bodies, but the first thing to do is to take action. Only you can do this for yourself, making a change and sticking to it can be extremely challenging, but once you finish and achieve your goals, it will be the most rewarding thing. Many people believe the process will happen fast, seeing progress over a couple weeks should be expected, but fitness and healthy lifestyle goals should be more long term set goals. It's harder to see the progress on yourself but you physically should start to feel better, feel more energized, and with time your clothes should start fitting loosely! Depending on the person you can actually gain some weight first due to muscle gains and water retention, but don't get discouraged. I know so many people who actually restrict their bodies from food too much which actually is hurting them reach their goals.
Nutrition is extremely important and knowledge of what foods your consuming daily is key for success. Keeping a food journal to log every morsel that you input on the daily will help you tremendously. As well as logging the way you felt after eating foods or even at the end of the day. Food journals can be really telling into your cravings and the way your body is working. Your body is a machine and what and when you feed it changes everything. You cannot trick your body, so don't try. Even cheating on a food journal totally defeats the purpose so don't bother if your going to cheat on it. Exercise and living a healthy lifestyle is something that I've chosen to do in my life, and it's not easy. I know that it's hard, and after a long day all you want to do is veg out and the last thing on your mind is something physically exerting, or the thought of waking up an hour early to sweat brings tears to your eyes, BUT the best decision is to just get out there and DO something. There has been countless days where I don't want to lift a finger or even set foot in the gym. BUT, I know that I have to push past it and just do it. In the end when you make the decision to just DO IT, it's always better, ALWAYS. So, push past your fears and just get out there and do something. Who cares.
